Clayton ThompsonGeneral ManagerA long time Northerner with more than 15 years of experience leading teams, Clayton’s number one priority has been and continues to be, ensuring a safe workplace for all of his employees and guests. Clayton’s experience across Food Service, Hotel and Remote Camp industries has allowed him to bring a unique perspective to servicing camp guests. His perspective allows flexibility based on the clients needs while never compromising Bouwa Whee’s core value of safety. Clayton has vast experience working in multicultural settings and has a solid understanding of the challenges and benefits of doing business in the North. Clayton’s passion for delivering a safe and satisfying guest experience is only matched by his love of recreation. In his time away form work Clayton can be found enjoying the areas surrounding Yellowknife, practicing jujitsu, or running the occasional ultra marathon.

Melanie WhiteOperations & Safety ManagerMelanie White leaves her role as the Safety and Training Specialist for Det’on Cho Corporation where she was responsible for managing a comprehensive safety program for the Det’on Cho group of companies, as well as promoting a strong safety culture. Melanie’s passion for promoting safety in the workplace began with her career in paramedicine, which allowed her the opportunity to begin working as a paramedic in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut in 2016.
Prior to being a paramedic Melanie was a Tim Horton’s Manager and has more than 10 years of customer service experience. Melanie uses her strong team leadership skills to create an environment where guests enjoy the highest quality experience and employees are happy and motivated to provide exceptional hospitality. Since 2011 Melanie has held the position of Artistic Director of a theatre company; her experience as a director allows her to develop creative and fun strategies for managing our partnerships and operations |
Rachel RoemerHR Adviser & RecruiterRachel joined the Bouwa Whee Team in October of 2018 and brings with her extensive administrative experience . She is a long time Northener and enjoys working with and recruiting local staff for our mine sites. Rachel works closely with our Det'on Cho and We Le Dai teams to ensure that prospective employees are placed effectively within the organization.
